BEWARE: iPhone Firmware 2.2 Disables Sim Card Hacks like TurboSim or VirginSim

Apple seems to be getting back into the cat and mouse games again with the latest iPhone update. Firmware 2.2, released only a few hours ago, seems to be disabling Sim Proxy/Hacks like TurboSim, VirginSim etc..
Since the 3G came out Sim Proxy/Hacks have had some limited success in allowing users to use their 3G iPhones on any carrier. I had reported in the past that these Sim Hacks work, albeit for a limited time, but some didn’t work at all.
This is jsut a warning to anyone using the iPhone 3G with one of these Sim Hacks NOT to update until there is a clear sign that the Sim Proxy/hack of your choice is working. The Dev Team, myself and others have always said that this was unreliable run around to a software unlock and it’s days were numbered. Now we’ll see if these hardware hacks days are over, once and for all.
