iPhone App store app wishlist

I’ve been hoping to see if a developer would pick up any of these applications and put them to work. They aren’t bad good ideas and surely would make everyone’s life much easier, and they couldn’t be that hard to create.

Order In Line

I’m in McDonalds and there is a long line to get food. I don’t want to waste time talking to the cashier and risk that my order will be messed up. So I whip out my iPhone and select what I want to order, click order, and prepare your money. Click process order, and you will have the option to send order. When you get to the front, hand over your money, click Send Order, the cashier will accept, your receipt will print, and your done. Now, this idea isn’t all mine, I saw this idea over a year ago (click), but it was for Starbucks. This hasn’t been made yet! Somebody needs to jump on this, you could make a ton over this (if 10000 people buy it at a buck, you made 10000 bucks, etc).

Digg

Yes, there’s a web app, but that’s not the same. I want a downloadable application where I have multiple options, tracking what I’ve dugg, better transitions, etc. This wouldn’t be that hard to make really, it’s pretty basic code (if any code is basic :) ), and a lot of people would download it (and when I say a lot, I mean a TON). Other options would be related, better commentation implemented, inclusive browser instead of launching Safari every time you open a new article, submit articles, etc.

Flash Player

Adobe is really trying to get this out, but since it’s yet to be made, I’m still adding it to my list. This is one of the few things really missing from the browser and iPhone itself; lack of support for flash media. I want to be able to go to any video website (hulu for example) click the flash icon and be able to watch the video. I’d like the ability to be able to view networked videos. What I mean by this is the ability to see what people are current watching, what’s the most popularly watched, and my history (youtube basically, but not limited to one source).

Flash gaming would be a challenge due to control schemes/lack of keyboard and mouse. A lot of flash games rely on WASD, Arrow Keys, and a moveable mouse, not point and click. This would mean flash developers would need to make alternate keys or the flash player needs to make a small bar at the bottom for the control keys. And for moving the mouse around (if the way you control is moving the mouse around, you obviously can’t do that unless you drag, and what if you have to click to shoot?). If the gaming part is released, I’d expect it to be a very rough alpha at best.

iWork/Office/OpenOffice/etc

I know that it wouldn’t be the best interface to implement a word processor/spreadsheet/presentation software due to the screen area needed for the keyboard, lack of copy and paste, etc. But this is a necessity if you really want to draw in a business crowd. Yes you can view these files already, but what if you misspelled your company’s name and you have a meeting in 2 minutes with the board of directors and all you have is your phone? Or if you just forgot to make a document completely and you have an hour at the airport? You can’t now, but it’d be a nice option to have. This doesn’t need to be big and flashy, try and take after Mobile Office (on Windows 6.x phones), it’s fairly light but has enough options for a large amount of people.

Stacked Apps

My iPhone is full of apps, some of them are basically useless. Wouldn’t it be cool if you could clean up your springboard up a little bit and have stacks (like Leopard does)? If you’re unfamiliar with stacks, it compiles a set amount of apps into one icon, and after clicking expands and shows multiple files/programs etc. I could have a stack called
