Since JailbreakMe 2.0 uses userland technique to jailbreak all the iDevices, there are less complicated steps involved in jailbreaking process. You just have to follow certain guidelines to jailbreak your iPod Touch successfully.

Steps to follow:

1. Sync your Device with iTunes 9.2.1.

2. Connect Device to Internet via 3G network or Wi-Fi.

Musclenerd made his views very clear via Twitter and also highlighted a very important flaw. Sn0wBreeze has the official Apple boot loaders embedded in it which is illegal according to copyright law.

This directly threatens the entire jailbreak community as it could give fuel to Apples case with the DMCA that Jailbreaking is illegal.

You may be saying that the Apple boot loaders have been around for a long time, but with previous tools, the onus has always been on the user to acquire the boot loaders, thus taking the copyright infringement away.

This news, as expected went down like a lead balloon within the community and most are turning their backs on iH8Sn0w and Sn0wBreeze.

On top of all this it seems that Sn0wBreeze is also fraught with bugs and has caused many users considerable issues forcing them to restore.

We suggest that anyone that has downloaded Sn0wBreeze does NOT attempt to use it. If you do you are directly breaking the law and could experience major issues resulting from the use of the tool.

Musclenerd has already stated that they are working on pwnagetool and redsn0w for 3.1.2. Our advice is wait it out guys.

Note: This only works for iPhone 3G and 3GS. for iPhone 2G, check: BootNeuter.

Guide how to unlock iPhone 3.1.2 3G/3GS on baseband 05.11.07 from Blackra1n with Blacksn0w:

• Install the latest version of iTunes
• Connect your iPhone to PC/Mac. Go to iTunes and update your iPhone OS to software version 3.1.2
• After the update, you need to jailbreak your iPhone with blackra1n RC3. Download blackra1n for PC and Mac HERE
• Run the blackra1n app (On Windows 7 or Vista, you need to run it on Windows XP compatibility mode) and click on the make it ra1n button.

• Wait until your iPhone restarts.
• After the jail break, run the blackra1n app on iPhone. Tap on “sn0w” to install blacksn0w that will unlock your iPhone 3G or 3GS running 3.1.2 firmware on 05.11.07 baseband (look screenshot below)

This baby will fully unlock and activate your iPhone!

But now thing are brighter as Geohot managedleft this message on his blog:

this is the most complicated injection i have ever done, and it uses a public command
…prepare for blacksn0w, although i gotta still figure out this zamboni”

This mumbo jumbo would be better explained to the common man that he managed to run arbitrary code or somehow take control of the baseband.

In other words, once you have managed to get your own code running on the baseband the next step will be to write and run the code which executes the unlock.

He also said on his blog to be very tired, often working day and night. It will be a little while before  he finalizes it all.

As it didn’t add the AFC2 support to the jailbreaked iPhone many handy 3rd party applications such as: Diskaid, iPhonebrowser, iFunbox, etc that needed the afc2 service to access the iPhone to transfer files such as Winterboard  themes, etc stopped working (Meaning you can’t access the root partition of your drive with desktop clients).

GeoHotz later tweeted that he disabled it because of issues with Blackra1n and said to simply look arround cydia for a quick fix.

To resolve the issue:

Load up Cydia to search and install a fix called “afc2add”. Once rebooted Diskaid, iPhone browser, iFunbox or other file browser should be working again!

After releasing his latest jailbreak 3.1.2 tool blackra1n,  Geohot has been constantly flooded by thousands of messages for help and although he always publicly denied working on an unlock solution since the release of Firmware 3.1 we got good news from him last night…

Against all odds he has officially announced via Twitter that he was on the verge of  find a flaw in the Baseband 05.11.07!

MuscleNerd, member of the Dev Team also announced that he was working hard on his side to unlock without giving details.
