Since JailbreakMe 2.0 uses userland technique to jailbreak all the iDevices, there are less complicated steps involved in jailbreaking process. You just have to follow certain guidelines to jailbreak your iPod Touch successfully.

1. Sync your Device with iTunes 9.2.1.

2. Connect Device to Internet via 3G network or Wi-Fi.

3. Start Safari Browser and visit http://jailbreakme.com/

5. Once the process is finished, you will get the success message on iPhone’s screen.

6. Enjoy! Your iPhone iOS 4.0.1 has been jailbroken

There are also differences between these two iPhone 4G prototypes. The first iPhone 4G prototyped that was leaked via Gizmodo had an unspecified amount of storage space, while the new iPhone 4G prototype leak says that there is 16GB of storage inside. Another difference is that the first leaked iPhone 4G prototype had “DVT” on it, which means: design verification test. Now, this new iPhone 4G prototype leak doesn’t have “DVT” on it, which is very interest is to why. On top of all those other things, this new iPhone 4G prototype doesn’t have screws on the bottom, while the first iPhone 4G prototype leak had screws.

Guide to jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 with PwnageTool 3.1.5

• Open PwnageTool 3.1.5 on your desktop and choose your device.
• PwnageTool will detect and verify the latest firmware.
• After verifying, it will ask whether you have contract. Click on No. (Yes for official subscribers) Clicking on “Yes” will update your baseband to the latest version which will make your device almost impossible to unlock. Click on “Yes” only if you are on an officially supported carrier like AT&T.
• It will build a new Custom .ipsw file for your device so that you could easily jailbreak it.
• Now, jailbreak your device with the help of custom firmware file. (Use Restore!)
• That’s it. Wait till entire process gets finished.

Sn0wbreeze is similar to the iPhone Dev Team’s Pwnage Tool, in that it creates a custom firmware that you use to restore with, in iTunes. This is for Windows users, only. I will say that I tested the beta of their 3.1.2 release, and it failed miserably. I ended up having to do an official restore, after trying it. I was trying it on my iPhone 3GS that I purchased on launch day, and jailbroke shortly after, so I know it has the older boot rom. Use this tool at your own risk.

The steps are pretty easy. To prepare yourself, make sure you have a copy of your device’s 3.1.3 firmware handy. Typically, keeping it on your desktop is easiest. Then download sn0wbreeze 3.1.3. You can get it here.

Click the blue arrow to get started. Then select “Simple Mode”, and click the blue arrow again.

Click browse and navigate to the correct IPSW for your device.

In my case, I’m using an iPhone 3GS firmware, and I get this warning. Make sure you are certain your 3GS has the old boot rom. If your 3GS is already jailbroken on 3.1.2, you know you are safe. If you have updated to the official 3.1.3, you’re out of luck. If you are sure, click “I Understand”.

Click the blue arrow, once sn0wbreeze has verified your IPSW.

Decide if you need hacktivation, or not. If you are on an official carrier, you click “No”. If you need to unlock, you click “yes”.

Sn0wbreeze will now build your custom IPSW.

Once it is finished you will see this screen, letting you know everything went well and you are now ready to restore in iTunes. If you are jailbreaking an iPhone 3GS, you will be asked to put your device in recovery mode. If you jailbroking an iPhone 3G or 2G, you will be asked to put your device in DFU mode.

To restore, just press Shift and click the Restore button, in iTunes, on your device’s summary screen. Then navigate to your new custom firmware. It should be on your desktop.

WARNING: Don’t do it if you need to keep an unlock (Using your phone on any network)

WARNING: DON’T update if you have 3GS, newer ipt2G, or any ipt3G

This update for iPhone and iPod touch contains bug fixes and improvements, including the following:

• Improves the accuracy of reported battery level on iPhone 3GS
• Resolves issue where third-party apps would not launch in some instances
• Fixes bug that may cause an app to crash when using the Japanese Kana keyboard

Jailbreakers BEWARE:

The iPhone Dev Team have warned via their Twitter account that updating to 3.1.3 will not only lose your jailbreak, but it may also prevent you from using the Ultrasn0w and Blacksn0w unlocks for the 3.1.2 baseband on the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It may also brick iPhone 3GS and third-generation iPod touch models that require Apple’s signature checking (SHSH) for restoring in iTunes.

Best of all, Cerebro, earlier known as CALocationService is completely free of cost. Apple has location tracking service called ‘Find my iPhone’ but it costs you a lot of money, around a hundred bucks, that is. If you are willing to jailbreak your device and install Cydia on it, you can avoid moments of stress.

Cerebro works by recording the GPS coordinates of iPhone and uploading it to a server every 30 minutes. All this happens in the background, so the thief who stole your device will never know about it.

In order to use Cerebro, you need to first jailbreak your iPhone and install Cydia on it. For downloading and installing the app, navigate to ‘Manage–> Sources’ in Cydia and add the following source to your repository:
