Kayak, a travel search site has earlier released an iPhone App which lets you search for flights and hotels from their iPhone or iPod Touch. Now an updated version (2.0.1) which has been tested on iPhone OS 3.0 has been released in the App Store.

Kayak for iPhone has an easy to use interface with large icons. The main window gives quick access to Flights, Hotels, Cars, Trips, Buzz (the current hot deals), Preferences etc. You can enter your Kayak login information in the Preferences section and also set your currency for ticket prices and deals.

This free iPhone app from Kayak is a trimmed version of their service, not including the Deals, Vacations or Cruises sections that can be found on Kayak’s website.

I have been searching the world over for a killer iPhone Twitter client to replace the buggy TweetDeck iPhone app. In my searches, I was tipped to TwitBird [iTunes Link] by Nibirutech [website] and boy was I surprised!

First of all, the Premium version is FREE for the holidays so be sure to grab it NOW!

The UI is cute. It’s a mix between typical iPhone OS elements borrowed from the native SMS app, so you’l be ready to fly around (ha, worked in a Twitter bird pun after all), and a slightly customizable timeline window. For me, it was a nice subtle touch that really caught my eye. Just felt natural to me reading tweets in a conversation style. What is really cool, is that @replies contain a snippet of the previous tweet for reference purposes! GENIUS!

Also included are features like full landscape support, “now playing” updates (damnit!), media upload, and lists. While not as customizable as other apps, it is a great launching point for the developer to build upon. If you’re on a similar path to finding a new client, or simply addicted to Twitter in general, there is no time like now to try TwitBird!

If you love classical music and got $0.99 to spare after buying all your Christmas presents, you might want to pick up this application whose price has been divided a thousand !!!

Indeed, Classical Music Master Collection was until two days ago priced at $999 on the Appstore.

The application is a hefty 1.7 Gb download and contains no fewer than 800 classic masterpieces, categorized and commented by artist. Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Dvorak, Mozart, Bach, Schubert, Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi and many more … a real treat for fans!

The quality of songs is ok and the application contains no advertising. So you want to enjoy it now because we don’t know if it’s this price drop ( or error?) will last long.

Be aware, however, that exporting the music collection to iTunes is impossible. You will have to play the tunes through the application itself.

FEATURES:

800 full tracks of the classical music performance from the best orchestras and ensembles around the world.

No commercials in between music.

Quick link to Wikipedia search on the composer.

iTunes Music Store search for other performances of the same piece.

COMING SOON:

More music!

Search

It is not a secret that there is no video recording app for iPhone 2G and 3G in iPhone App Store, unless you jailbreak your iPhone and install CyCorder from Cydia. And that’s what most users who purchase iPhone from grey market did with their iPhone. You know it’s kinda odd that phone with camera cannot record the video, right?

But good news gentlemen, because video recording app at is now available ‘officially’ at App Store with the release of iVideoCamera, although you have to fork out 99 cent to install it into your phone. It have received fairly criticism from blog-sphere particularly due to its poor video quality, low resolution and low frame rate per second. Nevertheless, it’s better to have it than never, if you’re not willing to jailbreak your iPhone.

Bonus point as stated in the app description, you can save and share your photos via social media website such as Facebook, Youtube and etc. Head to App Store from iPhone to install it.

We earlier reported that EA is working on C&C Red Alert for the iPhone, and now we can tell you that it’s available in the App Store! The price for this app is 10$/7.99€.

After 3 years of iPhone madness, I finally feel good about the gaming options on the iPhone with the released of Comand & Conquer Red Alert iPhone Game! My all time favorite! . Seriously, the way things are going on the development of the iPhone, just makes me wonder where would this devices take you in a just a couple of years more to come.

Check out the Command & Conquer for the iPhone gameplay video:

This version of Command & Conquer for the iPhone and iPod Touch has significant differences when comparing the fight against the version of the old school in 1996, the 12 levels. For now, there is no multiplayer mode, in the near future …

If you are a fan of strategy games and have an iPhone, what are you waiting for? Only his head on the App Store and spend money for pleasure is guaranteed.

This is one of the most successful and popular series of strategic computer games in the history of the industry.
“Iron” resource phone for this game is more than enough, it’s not a three-dimensional shooter with a feature-rich graphics and resource-intensive special effects. Here the charm of the other, in the development, management of its base, the study of technology and creation of new units. And, as a result of dominance on the battlefield and defeat the opponent.

Let me quickly come to the point, Digg’s founder Kevin Rose, the co-founder of the popular social-bookmarking and Web aggregation site Digg, accidentally confirmed during a recent interview that Digg is going to come up with an iPhone app soon.

This mobile version of the site includes iPhone scrolling, mini-permalink pages with the top five comments, and digging ability. Rose claimed then that the mobile site was coded in 48 hours. This Digg app would supposedly make social bookmarking a lot simpler for smartphone users. This new app will represent the company’s first major mobile offering after the restoring of the Digg mobile site in July last year. It is speculated that apps for other mobile devices will be made available in the months to come.

In this interview with video podcasters Arnt Eriksen and Thomas Moen during the FOWA conference in London, Digg’s Kevin Rose revealed that the official Digg iPhone app is coming:

We don’t have the exact release date, but we’re thinking it will happen sooner rather than later!

1. Apple’s Camera App

I still use this app often. There is no wait time between images as the app saves your shots. Thanks to the new APIs, other apps are catching up, but for rapid fire photography, this is still my go-to app.

2. Camera Genius

I gave this a three-star review on the App Store and on my other blog based on the quality (or lack of) of the much touted Zoom feature. Turn off the zoom, and it’s not a bad app, and I use this as my default camera app. What I like about the app are the grid lines which help to compose better images and the anti-shake feature. When you drink as much coffee as I do, the anti-shake really helps….

3. Camera HD

All this app does is allow you to shoot in-camera with different aspect ratios. Yes, you could achieve the same results by cropping in post-processing. What I like is the ability to compose my shot to the frame in-camera. I use this app a lot.

4. Zoom Lens

Digital zoom with a bit of built-in post-processing. This is a real digital zoom that saves at full resolution. The bit of behind the scenes processing that this app does really improves your images. I’ve found no other zoom app that produces zoom results this good, including Snapture (both jailbroken and non). This is the best digital zoom app I’ve found for iPhone.

5. Camera XL

Resamples images as you shoot. This app has its limitations (read my reviewhere), but sometimes you just need more than 2 megapixels. Camera XL produces good results in doubling the size of your images, without the need to carry around a laptop and Photoshop.

6. Snapture

This used to be the mack-daddy of camera apps for me back in its jailbreak days. Still a good app, although Snapture’s digital zoom quality isn’t up to snuff with the previously mentioned Zoom Lens app. I use Snapture mainly for its multi-shot feature.

Here are the apps on my iPhone that I use to post-process images:

7. Photogene

Sure, PhotoForge is more powerful and has more features, but I use Photogene for about 75% of my image processing because it does what I need it to most of the time and it does it quickly and easily. When I need more, there’s…

8. PhotoForge

Big and powerful. In addition to all the filters and effects it has, PhotoForge also give me greater control of my image settings. The downside is that it’s slower than Photogene. The upside, it can do a lot more. I have both on my iPhone and use them. If I had to choose only one, I’d get PhotoForge to do some serious work.

9. CameraBag

A nice set of different filters that add mood and texture quickly and easily. A great way to enhance your pictures with classic camera and film simulations.

10. Camera Flash

Image adjustment for dark or underexposed apps — definitely a problem on the iPhone camera. I could get similar results using the Exposure and Contrast settings in Photogene, but this app gives me good results faster and easier. I used to use iFlashReady, but found the app to be crash prone and the results to be sub-par most of the time.

The Dropbox iPhone client allows user to access files stored on their secured servers as well as streaming music and movies from a Dropbox account. Dropbox places a folder on your desktop.

Anytime you drag another folder or file into the Dropbox folder it is instantly synchronized and available to your other machines running Dropbox. You can also right-click on any file or folder and create a private URL to that resource. Sending that URL to someone gives them instant access to that resource.

I highly recommend it for keeping files in sync across multiple computers and now things got even better since I can view my DropBox files on my iPhone, too! User can also take photos, videos on the iphone and upload too.

Some of the other features included are:

Possibility to use public links for your files: Instead of using rapidshare, megaupload or any other file hosting; you can upload your files to DropBox in a public folder and share it with the community.

Usability similar with Subversion: With the local client, you can store your files in your hard drive. And every time you put files in there, they are automatically synchronized.

2gb of storage.

And some of the features that you can see with the iPhone app:

Download files for offline viewing: Add files to your ‘Favorites’, and they’ll be accessible at any time.

Take photos and videos and sync them to your Dropbox: Take a photo from your iPhone and email its public link to a friend in less than a minute.

Currently, you can get 2GB of storage space for free on the cloud. larger capacity requires pay account. The user interface is very intuitive and clean.

The Weather Channel Interactive today announced its highly anticipated weather application for iPhone and iPod touch is available on the AppStore. The new application gives users the ability to personalize their maps with the weather layers and neighborhood landmarks that are relevant to their daily routine. This would enable a parent to add radar and cloud layers to their local map, identify a local park, and then track the weather prior to a little league game or school picnic.

“Customers expect much more than the weather – they want personalized weather information that is accessible anytime, anywhere, and in a highly interactive way,” said Louis Gump, VP of Mobile for The Weather Channel Interactive. ”The revolutionary iPhone and iPod touch devices have given us the opportunity to deliver an application that customers will find indispensable, whether they are running to catch a plane, train or tee time.”

The new application seamlessly integrates with the iPhone and iPod touch address book so users can share weather conditions and alerts via e-mail. For example, users can forward severe weather alerts to friends and family who may not be aware of approaching weather, or a local forecast to their tennis team to let them know of a possible change in plans.

Additional features include:

Location-enabled – Find Me feature plots user’s exact location for quick, accurate conditions and severe weather alerts

Fully Customizable Maps - Users decide which weather layers to display (including radar, clouds, rainfall, snowfall, UV index, etc.), as well as what landmarks to display (surrounding cities, schools, parks, etc.)

Nicknamed Locations - Ability to store and personalize relevant locations for fast and easy access (i.e. Grandma’s House, John’s School)

Share Information – Users can share weather conditions and alerts with contacts in their address book

Video forecasts – Local, national and international video forecasts with The Weather Channel on-air meteorologists.

The new weather application for iPhone and iPod touch also features patented technology from The Weather Channel that provides detailed weather conditions, accurate up to 2 kilometers. This is particularly useful for areas where conditions like wind and temperature can vary greatly over a short distance. This technology combines traditional weather observations with even more data to provide unique conditions for more than 1.9 million locations – literally filling in the gaps of the reporting systems used by other providers.

Additionally, The Weather Channel Mobile offers other iPhone application developers the ability to tap into The Weather Channel application on a local level. This functionality, available for the first time from The Weather Channel, will enable any iPhone or iPod touch application to use the OpenURL standard to launch The Weather Channel application and provide the end user with appropriate weather information.
