While Apple will take its time to come up with a solar powered iPhone, a firm called Solar Arcadia has come up with a solar powered casing for your iPhone.

This eco-friendly iPhone case is basically a lithium ion battery pack with a solar panel that doubles as a flip cover for the iPhone. This is a real green idea, except for the fact that the case is made of leather. Anyway, this solar case features an LED status indicator. They claim that an empty iPhone battery can be recharged in 3 hours when the included Li-Ion battery pack is full. When the battery pack is empty, you can get your iPhone recharged directly from the power of the Sun itself. The case, available in SideFlip and Leather Flip models, is not really elegant, but then, it’s about showing your eco values. Yours for $45.95!

Hey Guys! Its Daniel here with a review on the PDO topskin. I would really like to thank PDO for donating me this case so I can review it for you guys!

Anyway, this is a very basic case. And that is the whole beauty of this case. Now this case I believe is only around 25$ but it has all the things that make a good case. Now, the whole bubble-like, grippy design is something that I just love. It adds grip, and helps the case attract less lint. Now this case is real silicone, and it does attract some lint, but it isn’t a serious problem like we have seen in the Case-Mate Vroom.

Anyway, the TopSkin has little opening tabs for the dock connector and headphone jack, but while the headphone jack was easy to use, I had some problems with the dock connector opening.

The TopSkin is also one of the first silicone cases I have seen with an integrated belt clip. Now the clip works great, but here is where this case lost some points.

1) I don’t feel secure with this clip. Just the whole weight of the iPhone being carried by a piece of silicone is just something I do not like to imagine.

2) It is removable. But when you remove it, there is a hollow area in the case which really bothers me, as well as two holes where you insert the belt clip (see the video, it is my main review, the written parts are just add-ons)

Another thing I like about this case is the front. Basically, the case is semi-transparent, so in the light the bezel reflects the light and makes a very nice shiny blue finish on the edges.

Anyway, this is a very basic case, but for silicone cases I will give it about a 7/10, because there are many competitors out there, who while don’t have a belt clip, have other things that make up for it in return.

OtterBox has launched the Impact series of protective cases for iPhone 3G. As you may know we reviewed OtterBox’s Defender case in November and we were pretty impressed with them but they do add a lot of bulk to the device, which was the main drawback as we saw it.

The OtterBox Impact Series is a silicone rubber that covers most of the iPhone 3G, leaving holes for the screen, top and bottom ports, camera, and the Apple logo. No screen protector is included in the package to cover these holes, but the case does feature top, side, and front button coverage, as well as a nicely grippy shape. The Impact case seems much thinner and probably doesn’t offer the same protection but it also leaves the device slimmer obviously. It’s $19.95 and you can order it directly from the OtterBox web site.

Do you ever take your iPhone to the beach? What about on a boat? As everyone knows, water is lethal to most electronic gadgets, especially an iPhone. If you frequently find yourself in such high risk situations you should check out the Aquapac line of waterproof cases.

Aquapac acts like a condom for your iPhone! With summer here and many outdoor activities that can be done in this city.
It’s 100% WATERPROOF!! So you can go to Raging Waters or any other theme park with this case in your pocket and it will be dry so no worries about water. PLUS, you can still use all the features WHILE in the case. If you do drop it in water, it will float! (Once you add a small wad of paper inside the case). All for just $25..

This looks like a great product. Aquapac sells a large range of these waterproof packs that all look really cool. After reading some reviews about this case some people are saying that the iphone fits too snuggly inside and its hard to get the iphone in and out. Personally I wouldn’t want the iphone slipping around in there and I think its better that it doesn’t have a lot of room to move around. People might want to try putting the iphone in the case without a case on it if it fits too snuggly. The aquapac is all the case you need.

Overview:

If you’re the active-in-the-Great-Outdoors type and you need to take your expensive feature packed iphone with you then the odds are seriously stacked against its surviving very long. Unless the iphone is already 100% waterproof – is yours? Have you ever lost a phone to water damage? If not, you’ve been really lucky… so far! Depending on who you talk to, something between 10% and 25% of all mobile phones end up ruined by water unless you protect it inside a 100% waterproof Aquapac. If like a lot of people nowadays the main reason you take your phone with you in the first place is as a safety device – so you can call for help if you get into trouble – isn’t it doubly important that you can trust it to work when you need it to? Check out some of the customer testimonials lower down this page and read some real-life examples of Aquapacs saving lives.Tuck your phone safely inside an Aquapac and you’ll be able to take it and use it wherever you want to go and whatever you like to get up to.

Details:

You can make and take calls right through the case material. With most phones it makes no noticeable difference to the volume. And the GPS signal is unaffected.

We’ve added a LENZFLEX window on the back, which means that if you have a camera-phone you’ll be able to take photos right through the case.

The Aquapac for iPhone (code 104) fits the average size phones and GPS units.

Most phones float in the Aquapac, but a few don’t such as the iPhone. Ultra-slim phones like the iPhone should float if you fold up a few pieces of tissue paper and slide them into the case behind the phone. Test yours in a basin before first use outdoors.

Its guaranteed submersible to 15 feet (5 metres). The UV-stabilized TPU material won’t be broken down or discoloured by sunlight.

It keeps out dust and sand too.

And all that for only $30.00. Bargain!

Supplied with:

Comes with an adjustable neckcord so you can hang it round your neck.

Comes with a 3-year global warrany

There are loads of iPhone cases these days– and occasionally the case is so flashy that it’s worth more than the gadget… While many of these ultra-bling cases seem designed for the ladies than for men, here is one we’re quite sold on.

This metallic option from Incase is a revamped version of the old slider case for the first gen iPhones. Additionally, they are lightly branded and do not really sport a very loud, lavish design– they offer protection, first and foremost, and for $35. Seems like an easy enough buy for everyone who’d need to pimp their iPhone, don’t you think?

We recently got a sample of the SeeThru 3G here at acquire and from the outside it looks like just another hard shell case, but its got a simple little trick up its sleeve that makes it more impressive than most options out there. They added rubber rails to the side which add grip and the removable bottom half not only allows you to dock your iPhone, but does double duty as a stand.

The Speck SeeThru 3G iPhone line offers some protection from scratches to your iPhone case but also can act as a stand for when you are watching movies.

The SeeThru case comes in 6 colours and is easily attached to your iPhone. They also have rubberized grips to ensure you have a harder time letting go of your Apple 3G iPhone.

All of the external controls and ports are not covered up so it allows you to easily use your headphones, or turn up the ringer and even plug it into your USB cable for syncing without having to be removed. I find that to be a great bonus when it comes to electronic gadgets.

I have been using the SeeThru case on my 3G iPhone now for some time and it has also protected my iPhone from a fall while rollerblading. Without knowing where to look on the case you cannot tell that my iPhone dropped to the cement while rollerblading around Vancouver. Pretty cool protection and I was quite impressed.

There are a few issues I have found with the SeeThru case which has shown up throughout my use of the case and they are:

Side rubber grips can come off if in a warm area such as a pocket. Perhaps a better contact cement could be used to keep the grips in place? I have found them on the inside of my pockets or stuck to the front of my iPhone’s screen at times.

No screen protector. Perhaps offer a screen protector you can apply to help reduce scratches to it. Though I have been told that the screen on the 3G iPhones is made of some sort of scratch resistant glass.

I have found that with sliding the cover on and off to use it as the stand, that it has worn down the tabs that hold the 2 piece cover together and sometimes the iPhone can come out of its cover.

Overall I still use the SeeThru hard shell case to protect the case of my Apple 3G iPhone and have not quite found anything that offers a minimalist cover without taking away from look and feel of my iPhone. For a basic case protector that offers a unique look I would (and have) recommended the SeeThru case to people.
