Apple has unleashed a new update for our precious iPhones. Apple states that the new release will fix the following issues:
This update fixes:

• Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep
• Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart
• Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming

Immediately, Dev Team warned users against updating to this new firmware:

“If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device – 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.”

While the Dev Team say that PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.2; GeoHot, on whom everyone has their hopes pinned for a complete jailbreak solution with Blackra1n any moment now, has tweeted that his solution works even with the new firmware:

“phew, dodged a bullet with 3.1.2…still vulnerable and blackra1n worked perfectly on my 3gs.”

For those with a jailbroken or Unlocked iPhone who don’t want to lose it Please wait till there is a safe solution. Do not upgrade or you will lose your ability to unlock and jailbreak.
